Please add as much comments as you'd like in the complementary form and we'll read that with care.

If you name your partner (or others) on your policy just mention this on the last page later on.

If your license was not issued in the EU you are in temporary situation and won't be able to drive in France forever like this (your license will have to be converted into a French one or you'll have to get a French one as well). This is fine and we'll have solutions but we'll probably need to have a chat with you first if that's your case.

Please enter your registration plate either in the French or British form (accordingly).

If the system can't find you or if you don't have that information yet you can also use the right form to manually select your vehicle (and if you still don't find it then click on the red button to describe it manually).

We try to get as much data as possible from our data provider but the most important things are:

The type of vehicle (is the written model the right one)?

The transmission

The engine (diesel, petrol, etc.)

If you see any discrepancies on these 3 things please click on "it's not my vehicle" and add as much comment as possible.

Purchase date

Be as accurate as possible. If it's already French registered you can use the date on the carte grise but if it's a vehicle you will import please consider the importation date not the date you actually bought it.

The mileage can always be changed but it's easier to limit the mileage rather than extend it so try to make sure you don't limit your yearly mileage too much or risk a discounted value in case of a claim.

In regard to commute, if you are using your vehicle for professional purposes please select daily commute and leave us a note at the end of the form we'll get back in touch to ask complementary information.

Please list all claims you've made (no matter their value or responsibility). If you've made some we'll get in touch and if they're not responsible you should be fine but all need to be declared in France (for the past 36 months only).

If you have more than 3 years insurance history in France without interuption we won't look at anything else so that's perfect but if you have some history abroad during these past 36 months we may have a look at that history.

French insurers expect the insurance history in a particular layout to be able to convert it into it's French equivalent and what they expect is not standard in the UK (or elsewhere). We get what we need from foreign insurer almost all the time so don't worry but know that it may require a couple phone calls to your current or former insurer. For information, we will expect a document tracing the past 36 months (at least) where we can see the date the cover started and the date it ended (or mention it's still ongoing) as well as the list of claims or an explicit mention that no claims were made during that period.

In France we insure the vehicle not the driver so anyone that's driving your car is automatically covered. In case they make a claim that's your discount that takes the hit though. Also, if the person behind the wheel is not your partner you may have an increased excess (usually +150€ but could be more) and when that's a young driver the excess goes crazy (+1500€ on average). So you're covered but better keep an eye on your asset if you lend it ;-)

You made it, thanks a lot!

We will review your answers and will shop around for the best solution in your case. We'll get back in touch when we have some quote(s), within 2 working days at the very worst (usually within 4 hours).

Many thanks we've received your inquiry and will get in touch as soon as we have offers (or questions) for you (usually within 4 to 8 working hours).

Please enter your registration plate either in the French or British form (accordingly).

If the system can't find you or if you don't have that information yet you can also use the right form to manually select your vehicle (and if you still don't find it then click on the red button to describe it manually).
